Pride In My Photos

Following the Stonewall Riots in June 1969, Pride events have been held each year all over the world to allow the LGBTQIA+ community to protest against the discrimination they have faced over the years, and in some countries still do.

Whilst nowadays, the events seem to be becoming more commercial and losing the true reasoning as to why they are held, they are still a very important event to show that the Community is still very much a part of this world, and should be entitled to the same right as the hetrerosexual community.

I have been photographing Birmingham Pride since 2016, but have also been lucky to travel to other places such as London, Amsterdam, Berlin and New York for the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. I hope to attend more Pride events each year to showcase the Community, of which I am Proud to be part of.
